NOTD: Utopia & Brit Pop

models own utopia & angelica brit pop (available from primark & online)

Today I have a NOTD that I have been sporting a lot recently for when I want something a bit different and looks nice and is also easy to do. Models Own Utopia is a grey-purple-off-white nude which is so pretty. I have a NOTD where I am just wearing it on its own. You have probably seen it raved about on various blogs including Lily's blog LLYMLRS which is where I originally saw it first and immediately fell in love with it. To jazz it up a bit, I have applied the Angelica Brit Pop nail polish over the top. Brit Pop is a clear nail varnish with holographic pieces of glitter in a varitey of colours (red, blue, gold etc) suspended in it, which looks so pretty over Utopia. Brit Pop goes on so smoothly and nicely and with just one coat creates a good amount of opaqueness (?). I have applied 2 coats here, purely out of habit. As with all glitter polish, Brit Pop is an absolute nightmare to get off and I end up scrubbing at my nails, which probably isn't best for them, but I can't get it off with nail polish remover as it just doesn't budge! Angelica is available from Primark and also online and is only £2.75 which is amazing for the quality, and also the range of colours!

Thanks for reading!

What have you been wearing on your nails recently?

Collective Haul!

bag: primark, £10

sunglasses: primark £1, eyeshadow: superdrug £5 each

skirt: h&m £7

vest top: h&m £12 (reduced to £4 I believe)

vest: h&m £1.99

Hello everyone!

Today I am off school due to teachers striking (although the year 7s & 12s have to go in, ha) so I thought I'd do a haul post that I have been meaning to do for some time, because I bought these things a while ago, photographed them, and then completely forgot about it! So, first of all the bag, for starters I couldn't believe it was in primark, and second, I couldn't believe it was only a tenner! It is a structured "triangle bag" and has little handles so you can carry it in the crook of your arm, or hold it in your hand. It also comes with a long detachable strap so you can carry it on your shoulder! It feels like a good quality bag, especially for the price but when you open it, the zip can sometimes get caught which is a bit annoying. It also has a faint plastic smell to it, but for the price you can't go wrong. Another thing that I picked up from primark were these tortoise shell wayfarer type sunglasses which were only £1! I then popped into Superdrug, and saw that the Maybelline Colour Tattoos were on offer for buy one get the second half price, so it would be rude not to, right? Anyway, I picked up On and On Bronze and Permanent Taupe, and have been loving them so far. On and On Bronze is my favourite out of the two, but Permanent Taupe is such a nice colour too! I wish Maybelline would bring out some more wearable shades! Review coming soon.

I then went into H&M and picked up a couple of things! Firstly, the grey skater/circle skirt. I have been looking for one of these for a while, I know Topshop do a few but I'm not a massive fan of skirts so I wasn't sure if I would wear it a lot or not, and quite a few that I have tried on were too big for me! But when I found this skirt and tried it on I instantly fell in love with it, as it fits almost perfectly! And with it being only £7, it doesn't matter if I only wear it a couple of times, although saying that, I think I shall be wearing this all through summer/autumn! Also from H&M, I bought this pretty white vest with laser cut outs, but it hasn't actually been cut out, if that makes any sense?! It was reduced from £12 to £4 so I just had to get it. It's quite long so I can wear it with leggings and my bum won't be showing! I can also tuck it into shorts when the weather gets a bit nicer. The last thing I bought was also from H&M and it is just a simple white vest. I got 2 sizes up (I am usually a size 8 but I got a size 12) only because there weren't any size 8s and being only £1.99 I couldn't resist. They had some really pretty colours too; some neon pinks and oranges. Surprisingly, it isn't too big and it's a nice loose fit.

Thank you for reading, what things have you been buying recently?

fotd #6

mac studio fix foundation / bareminerals neutralising primer / elf cream eyeliner / no7 extreme length mascara / rimmel lipstick in vintage pink / collection lasting perfection concealer / sleek contour kit / soap & glory solar powder bronzer / elf eyebrow kit in ash

Hey guys!

Hope you're all well and having a good start to the week! Today I have a face of the day for you all! I love reading these types of posts and also everyday make up posts too. A couple of weeks ago the #bbloggers chat was about what posts people like/dislike to read, I think people have mixed opinions about FOTDs but I still like them. This FOTD is actually from the weekend, but I've only just managed to write this post.

Base
For my base I used the Bare Minerals Neutralising Primer just to even out my skin a bit, and then I buffed in my MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation  with a Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (it's amazing and dare I say..better than the buffing brush!)  I then went in with Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer to cover my blemishes and redness. I didn't use any powder because Studio Fix Fluid dries to a natural to matte finish, and usually stays in place all day! I then used Soap & Glory's Solar Powder Bronzer on the high points to warm my Casper-like skin up! I then used the Bourjois Round Pot Blush in Rose PomPon as a blush and a subtle highlight.

Eyes
For the eyes, I did something a bit different and actually wore eyeshadow. Yes, eyeshadow. For some of you, eyeshadow may be an everyday staple and find it more shocking when you don't wear eyeshadow. But I never wear it! I've never really delved into the world of eyeshadow (apart from MUA's undressed palette and my mum's old eyeshadows). This probably isn't the best picture to show it as you can barely see it, but I used the highlight from the Sleek Contour Kit all over the lid and then the contour powder in my crease and my lower lash line. This will probably sound weird, using face products on my eyes, but I find they last the longest! I then did a thin line of my ELF Cream Eyeliner to add some definition, and then used some of my No 7 Extreme Length Mascara. Then I filled in my brows with ELF Eyebrow Kit in ash, a really nice cool toned brow kit!

Lips
For my lips I used Rimmel's Moisture Renew Lipstick in Vintage Pink; a gorgeous purple toned pink! The picture doesn't do it justice! The colour is so pretty ahhhh! I have no idea how to describe the colour but take my word for it, it's so gorgeous!

Thanks for reading, hope you have a good afternoon and evening!

Review: Lord & Berry 20100 Lipstick Pencil

Lord & Berry 20100 Lipstick Pencil* - £8

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a review of the Lord & Berry 20100 Lipstick Pencil! I have seen so many of these types of lipstick/pencil/chubby stick/balm stain things all over the place, but this is the first one I've tried. And also the first product from Lord & Berry. Although I had heard of the brand (from hours of browsing the beauty section on ASOS) I had never tried anything from there, so I was a bit apprehensive about the quality, but I must say it's amazing! I really want to try some other products from Lord & Berry because it's relatively affordable and really good quality!

I have the 20100 Lipstick Pencil in Naturelle, which is a browny-nude natural lip colour! It is very much a your-lips-but-better colour, which is great for when you want something on your lips but you don't want to go all out with a bright colour! The application is amazing; it glides on smoothly and is so moisturising, almost like a balm! My lips tend to get quite dry so this is amazing for it! It lasts a while on the lips, although it can come off when eating/drinking, but it is easy to reapply and can be applied without a mirror, which is great for on the go touch ups!

Overall I love it! My sister likes it too - a bit too much though because she keeps using mine! The Lord & Berry 20100 Lipstick Pencil comes in a variety of shades: from nudes to a shocking red. There are also a few orangey shades which I really want to try!

Have you tried anything from Lord & Berry? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading!

Review: bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer

bareMinerals Prime Time Neutralising Foundation Primer* - £17

Hey guys!

I hope you're all having a good start to the week and not suffering too much from the Monday Morning Blues. I'm going to London with my school on Thursday and I'm quite excited (mainly for the coach journey though - I'm not so excited for the filling in of various worksheets, when I could be visiting Victoria's Secret!) but today has gone so painfully slow! Today I have a review on the bareMinerals Prime Time Neutralising Foundation Primer. What do bareMinerals say about this primer?

"Create a silky, smooth canvas for a flawless foundation application with Prime TimeTM Neutralizing Foundation Primer. With its color-correcting yellow base and light-reflective pigments, this innovative foundation primer immediately neutralizes the appearance of discoloration, uneven skin tone and redness for brighter, younger-looking skin. Our mineral-infused formula glides on seamlessly, combatting flaky dryness, rough patches and uneven skin texture.

I totally agree. This primer is supposed to neutralise skin tones with its yellow colour correcting base, which looks quite scary when you first see it, but when it is massaged into the skin it looks just like your skin - but better. Although the swatch of it blended in on my hand is the best example, it definitely gets rid of my redness and discolouration which I don't have too much of and I only wish that I had this product when I had eczema on my face! It completely smooths out my skin ready for foundation, and actually does completely glide over all of my dry patches! It also doesn't break me out which is good! You really don't need much of it either, the amount I have on my hand in the picture above is more than enough to cover my whole face, so you really get what you pay for!

It also makes my foundation last a good while, longer than without a primer! It has come in especially helpful with the weather warming up, it stops my make up from melting off my face, and I rarely need to touch up throughout the day! On no makeup makeup days I have been using this on it's own with concealer just to even out my skin tone and it gives a really nice, natural finish, perfect for summer!

Although it's not a problem for me, the downside that people could find with the Prime Time Foundation Primer is the smell. It's similar to the MAC Studio Fix Fluid Foundation smell, although the Prime Time Primer isn't as strong and it's more pleasant, but I know some people aren't fond of that smell, or fragranced products in general, but it doesn't bother me at all and I actually quite like it because once you put it on it's not detectable on the skin at all!

Overall, I love this primer and although I have only tried one other (Gosh Velvet Touch Primer) the Prime Time Primer is pretty much holy grail!

Have you tried this primer? What are your thoughts?

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed!

The Red Lippy Project

lipstick: rimmel kate moss lipstick in 01
So, as you may know it's Cervical Screening Awareness Week (9th - 15th June). I'm a bit late with this post as this week is drawing to a close, but better late than never, ey? In order to raise awareness about cervical screening The Red Lippy Project has been set up! You have to find your brightest red lipstick and wear it during the week to raise awareness and spread the word, which I'm doing now! The Eve Appeal has joined up with The Red Lippy Project to highlight the importance of attending a cervical screening.

Red Lips Say:
“We wanted to make the little talked about cervical test less taboo. The campaign is celebrating femininity and the importance of looking after ourselves and each other. The initial idea was to create a platform that talked openly about the importance of cervical screenings and cervical cancer with a fun, bold, visual language that women and especially younger women can relate to."

I thinks this is a great idea, and a great way to spread the word too! The research by Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust found that for younger women aged between 25 and 29, who may be due their first test, only 63pc attended screening last year. This is concerning because apparently cervical cancer is the most common cancer in the UK for women under 35, according to the trust.(information from the telegraph) Although it may be 5 minutes of awkwardness, it could save your life.

I'd love for everyone else to whip on a bit of red lipstick and spread the word! You can check out their Facebook page, website, donate, join the conversation on Twitter (@redlippyproject) and Instagram (#theredlippyproject).

Thanks for reading, what red lipstick have you got on your lips?

Looking for the perfect foundation? Look no further!

Hello lovelies!

Finding your perfect foundation can be very tricky, there are lots of things to think about - shade, consistency, coverage and so many more! I know as soon as  I walk into Boots or Selfridges looking for a new foundation,  I have foundations being launched at me left, right and center!  Although foundation reviews can guide you a little bit, what worked and looked amazing on someone may not look as good on someone else. I'm sure you've all been in the situation when you try a new foundation that looked amazing on a blogger/youtuber/friend and then it has looked a bit rubbish on yourself (basically my life). And seeing as foundation is going to go all over your face, you want to find the one that makes your skin look amazing! With this new tool, you are able to be matched up to a selection of foundations that have been chosen for you based on your preferences and what you have already tried!

This foundation finder can be found at http://www.beauty.ps/tool/foundation it's totally free, and you just sign up and then you're ready to go! You then answer a couple of questions to help get your recommendations as suited to you as you possibly can - skin tone, skin type, coverage etc. Then you rate products you've already tried, so with good products they can find ones similar and with products you haven't rated as high they can avoid them! They then show you a list of recommendations with a link to where you can buy them! It's really quick and easy, and helps so much!

If you're on the lookout for a good foundation for summer then definitely check out http://www.beauty.ps/tool/foundation  because it really does help! I think there will also be some more features coming soon which i am so excited for!

They also have a blog http://beauty.ps/blog/ which is all about foundation too!

Thanks for reading, enjoy the rest of your day!

BangGood Wholesalers!

collar necklace - £2.50*
bracelet - £1.25*
 4 piece brush set - £13.14*

4 piece brush set*

silver circle texture tersely bracelet*

collar necklace*
Hello lovelies!

I hope you're all well and having a lovely start to the weekend! Today's post is going to be about a new discovery of mine - BangGood.com! Which is a wholesale website based in China. They sell pretty much everything, from electricals to clothes, so they cater for basically everyone! Naturally, I headed over to the beauty section and also the jewellery section!

The first thing I got were the 4 Piece Pure Goat Hair Brush Set, and I must say they are in close competition with my Real Techniques brushes! The bristles are so soft and they wash really nicely, and there hasn't been any shredding of the hair! I love that they have a white tip so you can see when they are clean or not! They are super dense, and I love the angled brush for my foundation at the moment, and it's also amazing at blending in concealer, although I do prefer to use the tapered pointy (?) brush for that! Even though I don't own the Sigma F80 I think that the flat top brush would be a great dupe because it is super dense and great for foundation! The brush set only retails for £13.14 which is amazing for four brushes (£3.29 each!) and I'd highly recommend! Especially if you are looking for some inexpensive brushes that are of good quality too!

The second thing I got was this gorgeous Silver Circle Texture Tersely Bracelet,   which is so simple but so cute too! I'm not a massive jewellery person but I love this bracelet because it isn't over the top or too in-your-face but it just adds a little bit extra to an outfit, and also goes with everything! This bracelet is only £1.25! But it doesn't feel like it's cheap at all - it's quite weighty which makes it feel a lot more expensive that it is! I love this bracelet so much, and I think I may get the gold one!

The last thing I got was this gorgeous Collar Necklace. I've seen a few of these floating around in New Look, Topshop and Asos but seeing as the one from BangGood is only £2.50 how could anyone pass that up?! Like I said, I'm not much of a jewellery fan but this is such a statement necklace and I think it will look lovely paired with a plain t-shirt to jazz up the outfit a bit! I can't wait to wear this Collar Necklace in summer and I think it will soon be making it into my summer fashion staples!

Despite BangGood being based in China, there is free shipping and also the products arrive quite quickly, it only took 2 weeks for mine to arrive which is very impressive seeing as I have ordered things for eBay which have been from China and it has taken over a month to arrive! I don't think I can rave about this website and it's products enough! I think my favourite product out of the things I have received would be the Brush Set! The brushes are just such good quality!

Have you tried anything from BangGood?

Thank you for reading, enjoy the rest of your weekend!

summer's in the air, baby heaven's in your eyes

Hello lovelies!

You may remember the other week when the sun finally came out to play! I didn't expect it to be sunny so I actually hadn't made any plans so I spent the day in the garden which was surprisingly nice! In the evening my sister and I decided to go on a bike ride! Although living in a town, behind our house we have the trans penine trail which is really nice to walk through in the summer! I thought I'd take some pictures because I thought it looked quite pretty with the sun shining through the leaves on the trees! I thought I'd do a few more lifestyle posts on here because I love having a little nosey into what people have been getting up to and I think posts like these are a great way to get to know a bit more about the person behind the blog too!

Thanks for reading, hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you like posts like these so I can do more/less of them!
